The Parallels never stand still. Fittingly neither does their music, jumping from decade to decade, and drawing influences from the most storied bands of rock & roll history and the kids in the garage down the block. Their sound is an amped up and hyperactive blend of rock and soul sensibilities that place heavy emphasis on the movement of the dance floor.
The Parallels current album entitled 1961 McLean, recorded with the venerable Jesse Gander of the Hive Studios presents a band poised to come into their own as one of the foremost representatives of danceable Rock & Roll on the west coast. The Parallels 1961 McLean is the first release from Vancouver’s Upstart Hi-Fi. The Parallels are set to begin recording new material this spring, which is to be released during the summer & fall of 2006.
